Take Away Hunger – Cedar Rapids is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that helps churches, schools, businesses, and organizations package food for the hungry here and around the world.
Over the last 14 years, we have helped package over 4 million meals for local food banks and disaster zones around the world
We are an all-volunteer organization. EVERY PENNY you raise will be used to feed the hungry.
For as little as $583 your group can provide 1,944 hot, nourishing meals.
25,000 people die every day due to hunger and hunger-related causes worldwide. 1 in 8 Iowans goes to bed hungry. Did you know you can feed a starving child a hot nourishing meal for 30 cents?
A packaging event consists of a team of 10 to 12 people who decide to make a difference! Your team can package 1,944 meals in 45 minutes for 30 cents/meal ($583.00) - Set your goal (number of meals x 30 cents). - Recruit 1-5 teams, depending on your budget and number of available volunteers.
For only $1.80 you can fund one bag of six meals! $65 funds one box of 216 meals! You can hold fun fundraisers or invite donations from sponsors.
We’ll provide the equipment, meal ingredients, and your event venue. We can deliver meals to the local food bank you want to support or will partner with TAH Iowa to deliver meals to domestic or global locations where relief is most needed. Your job is to have fun packaging meals with your team!
